Brazilian Net Salary Calculator (CLT)
Enter the gross salary and number of dependents. The calculation updates on its own.
Salário bruto (gross salary) is the full amount agreed in the contract, before any deductions. Salário líquido (net salary) is what actually lands in your bank account, after deducting INSS (social security) and income tax, when applicable.
Educational estimate based on Brazil's 2026 INSS and IRRF tables, including the exemption and reduction from Lei 15.270/2025. It does not replace an official payroll calculation and is not accounting or legal advice. It does not account for alimony, advances, benefits, or other contract-specific deductions. Percentages and brackets change with government adjustments — always confirm with HR or an accountant.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between gross and net salary?
Gross is the full contract amount. Net is what's left after deducting INSS and income tax — it's the amount that actually reaches your bank account.
What is the INSS deduction?
It's the mandatory contribution to Brazil's social security system, which guarantees rights like retirement and sick leave benefits. The rate is progressive: the higher the salary, the higher the rate applied to each bracket.
Does everyone pay income tax on their paycheck?
No. Since 2026 (Lei 15.270/2025), anyone earning up to R$5,000 per month is exempt. Between R$5,000.01 and R$7,350.00 there's a partial reduction. Above that, the regular progressive table applies.
What is the dependent deduction?
It's a fixed amount per declared dependent that reduces the income tax calculation base, lowering the tax owed.
