Brazilian Overtime Pay Calculator — Free & Online

Enter the salary, monthly hours and overtime worked. The calculation updates on its own.

Overtime is time worked beyond the contract's normal schedule. Brazilian labor law (CLT) guarantees a minimum premium over the regular hourly rate: at least 50% on a regular day, and 100% on Sundays and holidays without a compensatory day off.

Common: 220h for a 44h/week schedule, 200h for 40h/week. Check your contract.

Estimated result

Educational estimate of the GROSS overtime value, without the DSR (weekly paid rest) reflection, night shift premium, or resulting prorated 13th salary/vacation. The 50% and 100% rates are the legal floor (CLT art. 59 and TST Súmula 146); your collective bargaining agreement may guarantee a higher rate — adjust the fields above if so. Does not replace an official payroll calculation.

Frequently asked questions

How is overtime pay calculated?

First, divide the monthly salary by the monthly schedule (commonly 220 hours) to find the regular hourly rate. Then multiply that rate by the premium percentage (at least 50% on a regular day, 100% on Sunday/holiday) and by the number of overtime hours worked.

Is Sunday overtime always 100%?

Generally yes, when there's no compensatory day off during the week. But the category's collective bargaining agreement may set specific rules — always check with the relevant union.

Does overtime count toward vacation and 13th salary?

Yes, when it's regular (worked frequently), it can reflect in the calculation of vacation, 13th salary, and FGTS. This reflection is not calculated by this tool — see the legal disclaimer below.

What is the DSR reflection on overtime?

It's an additional amount the employee is entitled to for the weekly paid rest day, proportional to the overtime worked that week. It is not included in this calculator — see the scope in the legal disclaimer.
